A Cykic Review "Print On, Print On, Print"

As Paris fashion week comes to an end, it closed in the tradition of showing the final knockouts that industry insiders get revved up for. The finale consisted of Louis Vuitton, Elie Saab and Miu Miu. While LV and Saab have definite appeal,  I always look forward to Miu Miu's collection. And once again I was satisfied by the eclectic array of ensembles. One by one the Miu Miu rainbow took center stage with printed pantsuits, shift dresses with mirrored embroideries, clashing patterns that took over blouses, scarves and wide ties, and python platform loafers and boots. While I would wear about 75% of the looks,  it felt like an extension of Prada fall 2012. By by no means is this a bad thing, but I would have liked some differentiation.  Miuccia Prada manages to separate her brands every season so what was different about this one?

A very loyal fan I am to Miu Miu
But...
I question the corresponding collection.

A Cykic Review "Spunky, Sophisticated, Unique"

 Photos Via Style.com

While Proenza Schouler wowed me in a variety of arenas, Prada's fall 2012 collection inspired me beyond belief. Spunky, sophisticated, unique, embellished, streamlined, structured, the list goes on. Miuccia Prada continues to outdo herself every season. The geometric prints took on a 70's wallpaper ambiance. The ornate doctor bags took a matchy match inclination to adorned collars and pant hems. And the sunglasses, don't even get me started. More circular Beatles-esque frames that seemed to have a clip on effect that turns into prescription bifocals had me reminiscing about my first pair of glasses, that by chance had clip on sunnies.
It was a collection that will without a doubt set a majority of trends for the season.
Not to mention will fo sho appear in a wide variety of photo spreads.
This is not only an obsession, but a lifestyle I will be living in come fall.

I Take it Back

While taking in a few of my favorite blogs I came across Garance Dore's photographs from the Prada show. The facets of the entire collection were amusing and rich and I'm sorry I didn't see it in the first place

All photos taken by Garance Dore
I hope, but highly doubt the musical talents of Tracy Chapman's Fast Car was playing in the background.
It would've been a nice PLAY on words considering the silhouette's motifs
Like I said, Doubt it.
