Halloween: A Multi-Purpose Holiday

So Comme des Garçons did us the pleasure of juXtaposing ready to wear and a costume all in one.
Fashion ALWAYS has multiple purposes
and Halloween happens to be a PERFECT time to celebrate our eCCentric pieces
Elettra Wiederman told NY Magazine, "I'll just wear one of my normal outfits and paint my face."
Fashionable people always win.

The Four Seasons

I'm NOT usually a fan of Glamour's editorials, but this one got my attention.
ALL four seasons are miXed within, which reminded me of how I shop.
I tend to buy pieces I can wear year round.
Now, if I can just get my hands on those Jil Sander pants.
Oh! and A great baseball hat!

A Very Parisian Halloween

Grace Jones

Madonna

Cyndi Lauper

Emmanuelle Alt's newest editorial had me imagining each LOOk's persona.
I think I'm pretty right on

Beldar Conehead

I didn't know Dan Aykroyd walked in the Gareth Pugh show!
What are you going to be for Halloween?
Maybe a conehead a la Pugh?

As you can tell I adore a gOOd collage.
And these photo's are a unique take on a "lacquered montage."
Time for a DIY.

Photo du Jour

Today I'm taking a class called Figure 4. It's a combination of Yoga and Ballet and being obsessed with both types of physical activity I'm very excited.
This image of Veruschka is timeless.
Too bad Avedon isn't alive to capture me too.

She Hit Pause

I was at the Brooklyn Flea last weekend and witnessed the work of photographer Matthew Schwartz. And I simply fell in love...

His photography manifests the MODERN pin up girl. His work has been described as "walking into a memory."
I'd LoVe to have my memories captured
Maybe I'll hire Mr. Schwartz or my boyfriend can take my photo with his iPhone hipstamatic app.
They're sort of similar...

The Collagist

I don't know where the juxtaposition comes from, but I think it's preTTy successful.
Marisa Berenson is priceless and Miu Miu's glitter pumps highly priced$$$.

Ode to a Miu Miu Shoe

Not only do I adore Miu Miu's Fall line, but Frida Gustavsson is an exceptional model. It's VERY apparent the glitter booties are the shoe of the season.
Now, if only I could get my hands on a pair
For being a Luminescent heel, they're quite timeless.
I think I'll quit talking about it and just purchase the coveted item.

No Dolls Allowed

No dolls for me please, Barbie's ONLY
I ONLY played with Mattel's coveted as a child.
Barbie, Skipper, Kelly and Ken ONLY
A doll's attire tends to be blasé cliché.
I mean besides Tim Walker's version for Vogue Italia.
He makes broken down look gratifying.

The Collagist

Just another dose of my iNNoVative coLLages.
They tend to illustrate my mood and persona.
Use your imagination if you're trying to figure it out.
It's vague and LITERAL all in one.

Photo du Jour

Taking a little inspiration from Who's That Girl?
I think so...
See this film if you haven't,
Madonna's voice is SO obnoXious and entertaining all in one.

Fatal Fatale

Ever since Emmanuelle Alt took the reigns at Paris Vogue, her work has been sO sO. She has a similar vision to Carine Roitfeld only less bOObish and not such a controversial appeal. Lately I find she's trying to shed that Façade and take her chances with Roitfeld's perception, only it's NOT cohesive. These images are from her NEW spread in the October issue and I found them eXQuisite.

Then she brought this in the mix...
Doesn't really fit...
Alt has the POTENTIAL (we all know that
Let's see it girl
